Nick McEnally

Nick McEnally is a British composer, producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist specialising in creating forward-thinking production music across a range of genres.

With hundreds of published tracks, his music has been used extensively on TV and film soundtracks including Panorama (BBC), Dancing With The Stars (ABC), Dragon’s Den (BBC), Top Gear (BBC/Amazon) and adverts and promos for companies including Gillette, Compare The Market, Mitchum, Sony Games, Ford and Sky Sports.

He also wrote the title music for Channel 4’s ‘Building The Dream’, and co-wrote and produced the music soundtrack to ‘Shakespeare In Shorts’ with Fettle Animation, an educational animated video series for BBC Bitesize that was nominated for two Royal Television Society Awards and a BAFTA Award.

Nick worked for over a decade as an in-house composer and producer at The Firm, an award-winning music production house before going freelance in 2021. During his time there, he worked on a wide variety of projects, such as writing bespoke music for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 as well as working and writing with renowned artists and musicians such as Above & Beyond, The Pigeon Detectives and Paul Clarvis. As well as this, he has recorded projects in some of the world’s most prestigious studios including Abbey Road and Angel with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and London Session Orchestra.

This has allowed him to amass an extensive and truly versatile portfolio of work, encompassing everything from rock, indie, acoustic singer-songwriter and folk to soundtrack, TV underscores, orchestral and trailers right through to electronica, EDM and modern pop.

Today, Nick is most at home continuing to write and produce production music, with a love for collaborating on projects with other musicians and composers too. He has a passion for exploring old and new styles, whether that’s recording authentic live instruments or incorporating modern sounds in his productions - often a bit of both!

Drawing on his years of experience, his work is crafted with the media editor in mind and always offers a fresh perspective and high-quality production standards.

Nick is currently based at his studio in Tileyard North.
